Thank you for being here, I know last week went without an edition of the Sun City Scoop. Life & business have been extremely busy, and it was just too much last week and I was not able to get the newsletter put together.

Moving forward, the Scoop will be published on Wednesday each week. This small shift will help me to handle what needs to be handled and still put out a useful edition of the newsletter.

In this week’s Scoop:

  • 50 states, 1 flag mission of Glendale Mayor

  • Summer temps are here!!

  • Waterfront twin home in Sun City 🏠

  • And so much more!

Have an amazing week out there…🙏

~ After seven years on the road, Glendale Mayor Jerry P. Weiers has completed a unique patriotic mission: raising the same Arizona-made American flag at all 50 state capitols. The journey, which wrapped up ahead of America’s 250th birthday celebration, was designed to promote unity, patriotism, and appreciation for the nation’s history. The story serves as a reminder that even Arizona's native wildlife can run into trouble navigating the desert landscape. See the full article & video at 12news.com

~ Florence Carter, a Sun City resident an original “Rosie the Riveter” recently celebrated her 100th birthday, marking a remarkable milestone for one of the women who helped support the World War II effort on the home front. Her story is a living piece of American history and a reminder of the generations that helped shape the country through resilience, hard work, and sacrifice. Read the full article at YourValley.net

Long before Phoenix existed, jaguars quietly prowled Arizona's mountains, canyons, and desert grasslands.

Most people associate jaguars with the rainforests of Central and South America. The image of a powerful spotted cat stalking through a tropical jungle seems a world away from the cactus-covered landscapes of Arizona.

But for thousands of years, jaguars were a native part of Arizona's wildlife.

In fact, the largest cat in the Americas once roamed across much of the Southwest, including parts of southern Arizona, long before statehood, highways, or even the arrival of European settlers.
